Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Overview

LeadMapsHub ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome extension that extracts publicly visible business data from Google Maps. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, what we do not collect, and how your information is handled.

What We Collect

We collect the minimum data required to operate the service:

  • Google account email and display name — collected via Google OAuth when you sign in. Used solely for authentication and to identify your account.
  • Usage counts — the number of leads you have scraped in the current billing month. Stored to enforce free-plan limits and track Pro/Agency quotas.
  • Extension preferences — settings you configure (e.g., default export format) stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device. Never sent to our servers.

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Lead data never leaves your browser. Business names, phone numbers, addresses, websites, ratings, and any other data extracted from Google Maps is processed and stored locally in your browser only. We have zero access to it.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party telemetry.
  • No browsing history or page content outside of Google Maps.
  • No IP address logging beyond what your hosting provider captures in standard access logs.
  • No advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking.

Chrome Extension Permissions

The extension requests only what it needs:

  • activeTab / tabs — to detect when you are on Google Maps and inject the extraction UI.
  • scripting — to read publicly visible business listing data from the Google Maps page DOM.
  • storage — to save your preferences and extracted data locally on your device.
  • identity — to initiate Google OAuth sign-in so we can authenticate your account.
  • downloads — to trigger CSV / Excel / JSON file downloads to your device when you export data.

Data Storage

  • Convex cloud (auth and usage only) — your email, display name, and monthly scrape count are stored in our Convex database, hosted on secure cloud infrastructure.
  • chrome.storage.local (your device) — extension preferences and any exported lead data you choose to keep in-browser are stored locally and never transmitted.

Third-Party Services

  • Google OAuth — we use Google's OAuth 2.0 flow to authenticate users. When you sign in with Google, Google's privacy policy applies to that interaction.
  • Convex — our backend infrastructure provider. Data stored in Convex is subject to Convex's privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data (email, name, usage counts) for as long as your account is active. Usage counters reset monthly.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at sevensystems07@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my account". We will process your request within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

LeadMapsHub is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
